    Methodology

*ValuePenguin calculates the dollar value of rewards based on S$2,000 of monthly spending. We sum the value of points, miles and cashback in dollar terms and subtract the annual fee over a 24-month period. The estimates here are ValuePenguin's alone, and have not been reviewed, approved or otherwise endorsed by the credit card issuer.

**To calculate the value of promotions, we simply add the cash rebate value, value of miles and bonus gifts. Given that we typically assume S$2,000 of monthly spend on the card when calculating dollar value of credit cards, we exclude promotions that require S$3,000 or more of monthly spend to qualify. For physical gifts like luggages, we take a 50% discount given that not everyone will be in need of a new luggage.
